Marko Lapinkoski Takes Helm as High Sticks HT’s New Head Coach
High Sticks HT has announced Marko Lapinkoski as their new head coach for the 2024-2025 season, bringing with him a wealth of experience both as a player and a coach. A former professional ice hockey forward, Lapinkoski had a notable career playing in Finland’s SM-liiga for teams like Oulun Kärpät and Tappara. His playing career also included a stint in France with Anglet Hormadi Élite, and he represented Finland in the World Junior Ice Hockey Championships, earning a bronze medal in 1988.
Transitioning from player to coach, Lapinkoski has built an impressive coaching resume over the years. He started as a player-coach for Muik Hockey in the II-divisioona before fully transitioning to coaching. His coaching career includes positions with several youth teams and IFK Lepplax, where he worked with U16, U17, and U19 squads in various Finnish leagues.
Now at the helm of High Sticks HT, Lapinkoski’s leadership promises to bring a new level of expertise and professionalism to the team.
